Since the beginning of the 1900s human beings started conducting space exploration. For as long as we can remember human beings have been studying the stars. Through physics, math, and astronomy. The past 50 years of our knowledge of astronomy surpasses our entire civilizations' worth of knowledge on space. Every day we find new discoveries about space and the randomness of the universe. My goal for this piece was the capture of a being in the far future traveling through space-time. For love, power, or personal growth. My inspiration for this piece is the story of a man searching through the universe for answers. He leads a journey of colliding worlds, unpredictable realities, and infinite beauty. He seeks answers only found through the exploration of the universe itself.
As I created this I wanted to represent a world different from ours. A world bound by different laws operating space-time and reality compared to ours. My art style has roots in Calgary, Alberta. Not only did I develop my skills here, but I also have friends, family, and memories. Alberta is my home and the freedom of expression that it enables supports my artistic mind. Isolation is another aspect of this piece. As someone who is a first-generation Canadian. I want to develop a world where my descendants can grow in comfort and skill. I Imagined a physical journey to that world. What would I have to encounter? What would it look like? How would it feel to encompass such a journey? I imagine a deserted but beautiful path. In the end, glory.
